Tootie Heath - Picture taken at J@LC here with Slide Hampton
Red Holloway - Soulful Saxophonist here at a Clark Terry session I attended in Chicago.
Louis Hayes - I had such a great time with Mr. Hayes while he was here for Jazz Spectacular. Lot of stories!
Christian McBride - One of the greatest bassists ever! Christian was my very first tour at MSU and couldn't have been any nicer! It was not all smooth either but he was a trooper! He is always so kind and so blessed to have been able to spend time with him!
Dan Miller - A wonderful trumpet player continuing to do amazing things! Was great to finally meet in Chicago after conversing for years on Facebook!
Randy Napoleon- There is so much I could say. Randy is so passionate about playing this music! If there is a 2 min gap Randy is going to take his guitar out and practice. I have seen him in restaurants, subways, park benches, airports, hotel lobbies, just to name a few. Matter of fact, the time in the restaurant, Randy learned the tune I was telling him about while we were waiting for our food and we ended up recording it on my last CD! Randy has been nothing but encouraging and inspiring to me! He also recorded the soundtrack for me to play with at my wedding when my wife came down the aisle. Honored to call him friend!
Matt Lintula - We've had many a great night on the bandstand with TIJO
Coretta Johnson Olieberg - Talia's Cousin. Having a good meal in Fl!
Kenny Washington (drums) - Had such an amazing time on tour with him and the kids in 2019!
Sean Jones - Always inspiring and kind! A dear Brother who I love greatly!
Wycliffe Gordon - So generous, quick sense of humor always cracking me up, and have had many special moments on stage and off. Our love for Pops is deep!
Skip Norris - Loved Skip's passion for really everything but always encouraging and not a bigger advocate for the music! Love and miss ya Skip!
Chrissi Smith - One of my beloved co-workers. She is so kind and thoughtful, and am so glad to call her my friend!
Jumaane Smith - No relation to Chrissi! LOL I've only met once but we had such a good time and learned a ton. Hope to have many more times together in the future!
Joey Kibble - One of my beloved Take 6 Brothers! Joey has such a heart for the Lord and of course is one of the great singers on the planet!
Miles Davis - I was hours from hearing Miles in Amsterdam and then I didn't and it's not a great story! LOL
Lew Tabackin - One of the most soulful tenor sax players and my favorite flute players! Always very nice!
I love to celebrate God's gift of life! My life has intersected with so many in some form and I will celebrate them here!
