Talia's Obituary6/22/2022 Talia LaTrize (Johnson) Colley, age 43, of Lansing, Michigan, transitioned to heaven peacefully with her husband by her side on June 10, 2022.
Talia was born on July 23, 1978 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Enoch Randolph and Wanda Joyce (Smith) Johnson. Talia attended Hillsboro High School in Oregon. She attended the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri from 1996-1997 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in French. She worked for Wells Fargo Finance, Phillips and Associates, Coash & Coash 2007-2017, and was a captioner from 2017-2021. On July 1, 2017, Talia married Max Colley III, and they enjoyed almost 5 years together. Talia was an avid reader and had an extensive personal library. She also loved to journal both in physical journals and video journals. She enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and had a particular fondness for the Coca-Cola Polar Bear. She loved most things sci-fi, but Stargate was at the top of her watchlist. At a young age she learned to cross stitch and enjoyed making projects for her family. Talia loved Jesus and tried to model His example to the best of her ability by loving people. She loved to learn and liked to read encyclopedias and google everything! Talia was preceded in death by her father, Enoch Randolph Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Max Colley III of Lansing, Michigan, and her furbaby Mia, her Mother Wanda (Willie) Skinner of Mesa, Arizona, her Father-in-love Max Colley Jr., her Grandmother Winifred Marie Smith, her brother Tony Golden Sr. of Mesa, Arizona, her sisters Laura Johnson and Randi Johnson-Taylor of Mesa, Arizona, her sisters-in-love Chandy (Rick) Colley, Michelle (Mike) Truszkowski, Sarah (Jack) Straayer, her brothers-in-love Nathan (Doren) Colley, Jeremy Cosby, her nieces and nephews, Blair Golden, Sydney Golden, Tony Golden Jr., Candace Golden, Tiffany Hagger, Josiah Muhammad, and Ammar Muhammad, Alexandria Taylor, Isaiah Taylor, Eden Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Kelli Truszkowski, Jordan Truszkowski, Matthew Truszkowski, Summer Truszkowski, Elijah Cosby, Libby Cosby, Josiah Cosby, Esther Cosby, Bastian Colley, Rowan Colley, and her great niece and nephew Aliyya Hagger and Tajae Hagger, and many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins. Memorial Contributions in memory of Talia can be made to Hospice of Lansing Stoneleigh Residence; 3186 Pine Tree Road, Lansing, MI 48911. Per Talia’s wishes, there will be no public ceremony.
