Jimmy Cobb - Mr. Cobb was played on some of the most important recordings in jazz which says a lot about what kind of drummer he was. Despite being one of the most iconic drummers, he was one of the nicest and down to earth people. I got to tour with him with MSU for a week which was such a blessing. Then the ultimate honor was Mr. Cobb recorded one tune with me for my CD. I know it was not based on my musicianship because he never heard me play, but we had such a good time on our tour that I believe he agreed to do it. I got to pick him up and drive him to the session. A moment I will never forget!
